The School: Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia

Founded in 1954, the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), also known as the Indonesia University of Education, is situated in Bandung City, Indonesia. Originally established as a college focused on teacher education, UPI has since evolved into a comprehensive university that offers a range of programs encompassing pedagogy, linguistics, literary education, economics, business education, sciences, technological and vocational education, sports, health education, mathematics, natural sciences, arts, and design. Additionally, the university provides various postgraduate programs.

With the onset of the pandemic, the Indonesian government introduced significant changes to the basic education framework. These changes prioritize a student-centered approach, allowing teachers to move away from rigid performance and content standards. Instead, their primary focus is on ensuring that all students within a class progress at a relatively consistent learning pace.
