Diary Entry #3: Engage, Explore, Escapade
date. September 27, 2023
place. Erlangga and Dufan
entry title. It's Field Trip Day!
Dear Diary,
Taking the advice seriously to not become cooped up in our dorm room in Isola and try to explore Indonesia as much as we can, the following accounts show the adventures that our Filipino SEA Teachers family (TEAM FILOS) went to with UPI.
Erlangga

This is us, Team Filos (Filipino SEA Teachers) during the 4 AM call time near the UPI museum. I remember being amazed by the bus and how students are not cramped up inside, because in the Philippines, that is a common scenario. During this field trip, there were still a lot of empty seats because I think that 1 class is to 1 bus.

The tour here was well-organized. There were even free coffees from the cafe in side Erlangga. Thanks, UPI!
Dufan
Hello, Erlanga.

Erlangga Art Pieces.

After Erlangga, we went to Dufan. We were given our ticket to the entrance (left) and I remember spotting the Philippine flag at the entrance part of Dufan so I took a picture (right).

We went to grab some ice cream and rode the Vikings.
My thought at this moment: It is amazing how students are taken to experience and learn about things firsthand. This place is a publishing house and the mini seminar before the tour appealed to those who would like a career as an editor, illustrator, writer, and calligrapher in the future. The students were shown the printing and publishing process of their books and I saw how they were very eager to ask questions. I hope the PH has more of this as well.

We went on a rollercoaster ride and then I went back with Adi because she realized that she lost her glasses during the ride so we went to ask a staff for help.
